We are excited that the Twestival will be benefiting San Diego’s Campaign for Abandoned Youth, a collaboration between San Diego Youth Service and StayClassy.org to build a homeless shelter in San Diego for kids 18-24 years old. If you haven’t seen the video, take 2 minutes to watch it now :)

THE EVENT PAGE WILL BE UP AND RUNNING BY TUESDAY, AUG 25th. From there you can set up a free fundraising page, raise $20 (and hopefully more) for the cause, and you’re ticket to Twestival will automatically appear in your profile. It’s easy! Of course you could wait until the day of the event, and simply pay for a ticket at the door… however, with limted spots at Hotel Solamar, who knows if you’ll even get in!
Twestival was born out of the idea that if cities are able to collaborate on an international scale, but work from a local level, it would result in a spectacular impact. While Twestival Global put the spotlight around one cause, Twestival Local is encouraging cities around the world to host events in support a local cause.
100% of the proceeds from these events will go direct to the local not-for-profit selected. Everyone involved with Twestival is a volunteer; majority are crowdsourced using Twitter. Cities are asked to set a fundraising goal for their event, but it is much more than reaching a financial target. Twestival Local is a fantastic opportunity to connect with people in your community.
The goal is to give people a chance to feel they are contributing to a larger social initiative, but bring the cause a little closer to home.

We’ve always been committed to helping our community through charitable events, so getting involved in Twestival was a no-brainer. Over the past three years, StayClassy.org has helped dozens of charities fundraise through events and social media. Since Twitter is in the midst of revolutionizing the way we use the internet, and StayClassy.org’s mission is to revolutionize philanthropy… we think it’s a perfect marriage of sorts ![]()
But all kidding aside, we feel very passionately about the idea behind Twestival, and are extremely proud to help grow the event in San Diego. We sincerely hope you can join us on September 12th to raise money for a very worthy cause and have fun while doing it!
We’ve recruited our city’s top Twitter user’s to help us plan and promote the Twestival this year! Click on any of the links below to start following our commitee members :)
